Anglican Orthodox Church

The Anglican Orthodox Church (AOC) is a jurisdiction in the Anglican tradition. It was incorporated on 28 September 2001.[1] The church considers itself to be the continuation of the church of the same name which separated from the Episcopal Church in the USA in 1963. Its founder was the Reverend James Parker Dees, a North Carolina priest of the Episcopal Church who left that church over his concern that it had become steadily more politically and theologically liberal. Dees was influenced in his decision to form the AOC by fundamentalist pastor and leader Carl McIntire, who advised Dees not to join the Reformed Episcopal Church because the REC was not, in his mind, sufficiently separatist.
