Asbury Theological Seminary
Asbury Theological Seminary was founded in 1923. It bases its teaching in the spiritual tradition of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. The school serves multiple churches and draws its faculty from eight different denominations. The seminary has campuses in Wilmore, Kentucky and Orlando, Florida. Courses are also available online and through an extension program. It is accredited to award masters and doctoral degrees in fields such as Biblical Studies, Counseling, Christian Education and Youth Ministry.
The seminary seeks to train and strengthen believers to serve in the church. That training may lead to the professional ministry or volunteer roles within a local church or in missionary work. Asbury offers a variety of financial aid options and accepts international students. Asbury admits both men and women and requires all applicants to have the recommendation of their pastor.
