Dr. Kroeger has taught at Gordon-Conwell since 1990. In addition to teaching, she has also been actively involved in fighting against domestic violence and for the equality of women. To this end, she currently serves as the president of Peace and Safety in the Christian Home, a coalition of Christians committed to providing resources and education to eliminate domestic violence in the Christian home. She is, in addition, the founding president of Christians for Biblical Equality, a coalition of Christians united around the belief that Scripture supports the equality of men and women.

She has also held leadership positions within the educational realm. She is the founding chair of the Women in the Bible section of the Society of Biblical Literature and currently sits on the boards of Trinity Christian Academy and Latham School. She has in the past also served on the boards of Whitworth College and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and has been involved with Evangelicals for Social Action. She has served as the former president of the Minnesota School of Missions and is the former Protestant chaplain of Hamilton College.

Dr. Kroeger holds memberships in the American Academy of Religion, the Society of Biblical Literature and the Evangelical Theological Society. A member of the Presbyterian Church USA, Dr. Kroeger has been very active as a layperson in the church.

Dr. Kroeger’s scholarly interests include women in ancient religion, human sexuality and biblical mandate, women of the Bible, women in the early church, Africans in the Bible and early church, Christian response to domestic abuse and the social world of the early church.

Her personal interests include swimming, gardening, being a grandmother and, formerly, working as a trainer for the American Red Cross in lifesaving adapted aquatics.
