David Bosworth is a Washington, DC-area native who received his B.A.
(1994) in Liberal Studies at St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD. He
began graduate work at Catholic University in 1997 where he earned his
M.A. (2001) and Ph.D. (2003) in Biblical Studies, specializing in Old
Testament. He taught at Mount St. Mary’s University while in graduate
school. After graduation, he taught a semester at Catholic University
before moving to Florida where he served on the faculty of the
Department of Theology at Barry University in Miami Shores, FL for
four years before joining the CUA faculty in 2008. His book The Story
within the Story in Biblical Hebrew Narrative is currently available
in the Catholic Biblical Monograph Series http://trs.cua.edu/news/bosworth_story.cfm

He maintains interests in Hebrew narrative, Hebrew poetry, King
David, (proto)apocalyptic literature, the Bible and politics, and
religion and violence. His recent articles include “‘You Have Shed
Much Blood, and Waged Great War’: Killing, Bloodguilt, and Combat
Stress” in Journal of Religion, Disability and Health 12 (2008) 236-50
and “Evaluating King David: Old Problems and Recent Scholarship” in
The Catholic Biblical Quarterly 68 (2006) 191-210.
