Dr. Ellen Babinsky has been a member of the faculty of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary since 1988. Professor Babinsky brings to the classroom her expertise in the Early, Medieval, Reformation, and Modern periods of church history, with a specialization in medieval heresy and Christian mysticism.

Dr. Babinsky has delivered a number of papers to the Medieval Institute in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and is also the author of several articles and reviews. In 1993 she published her own translation of and introduction to a 13th-century French mystical text, Marguerite Porete’s “The Mirror of Simple Souls.” The book is a volume in the Classics of Western Spirituality series.

Professor Babinsky was appointed to the Theology Committee of the Caribbean and North American Area Council of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches in 1993, and most recently was elected to the General Assembly Committee on Ecumenical Relations.

An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Dr. Babinsky is a member of New Covenant Presbytery.
