Professor Kim’s homiletic concern is with the development of theology and method of preaching in relation to the cultural diversity of congregations. Her research area includes religious plurality, ethnic diversity, gender-related issues, and intercultural communications. In Preaching the Presences of God: A Homiletic from the Asian-American Perspective, Dr. Kim attempts to make cross-cultural connections in the formation and nurture of Christian spirituality through preaching. In another book, Women Preaching: Theology and Practice Through the Ages, Dr. Kim presents an inclusive, communal, and poetic homiletic that is grounded in the history of women preachers. Dr. Kim is a contributor to Feasting on the Word, (Westminster John Knox Press) a new 12-volume series of sermon resources that will be published over the next four years.

An ordained Presbyterian minister, Dr. Kim has served pastorates including the New Garden Korean-American Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
