Francis W. Bridger began teaching as an adjunct professor in practical theology in 1999 and joined the Fuller faculty full-time in 2006 as executive director of the newly established Center for Anglican Communion Studies and as ecclesiastical professor of Anglican studies, teaching denominational courses, as well as pastoral theology. Prior to coming to Fuller, he served as principal (president and dean) of Trinity College, in Bristol, U.K. (1999-2005), having previously been a rector in the Church of England and lecturer in social theology and ethics at St. John’s College, Nottingham, U.K. Bridger’s books include 23 Days: A Story of Love, Death, and God (2004), A Charmed Life: The Spirituality of Potterworld (2001), Children Finding Faith (1988), Why Can’t I Have Faith? (1998), and Counselling in Context (1994).

While living in the Los Angeles area, Bridger was assistant priest at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (Altadena) and Church of the Transfiguration (Arcadia). In July 2008, he relocated to England where he continues to direct Anglican studies development and the work of the Center, traveling back to Pasadena to teach. He also currently serves as theological advisor to the archbishop of Burundi.
