Personal Information:

Dr. Rownd received his Bachelor of Music from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music where he studied with Ellen Thompson, and his Master of Music from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where Howard Karp was his piano instructor. In 1990, he received the Doctor of Musical Arts in piano from the University of Kentucky at Lexington as a student of Lucien Stark.

Named to the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, Dr. Rownd taught at Houghton College in western New York before coming to the Moody Bible Institute in the fall of 1986. He is Professor of Sacred Music and Coordinator of Piano Instruction.

Dr. Rownd and his wife, Jennifer, have four children and two grandchildren. The Rownd’s reside in Chesterton, Indiana with their daughters.

The couple’s piano duet ministry, Four Hands In Praise, presents sacred concerts of worship and has produced a CD, O For a Thousand Tongues
