For 10 years, Gordon, Gwenyth and their children lived among Muslims in South Asia, where he taught in Karachi, Pakistan and Hyderabad, India. Gordon’s academic expertise is in the origins of Islam and the earliest commentaries on the Qur’an. He also teaches in the areas of cross-cultural Christian witness and service, history of the non-western Church, and theology of religions. Teaching for Ambrose Seminary at ACTS since 2003, Gordon helps prepare students for sensitive cross-cultural relationships and respectful Christian witness in the midst of religious diversity.
