Greg Carey has taught at Lancaster Seminary since 1999. He had previously taught at Rhodes College and Winthrop University. His publications include numerous studies on the book of Revelation and ancient apocalyptic literature, rhetorical analysis of the New Testament, and (coming soon) Sinners: Jesus and His Earliest Followers.

Greg serves as chair of the Rhetoric and the New Testament Section of the Society of Biblical Literature and as chair for the Apocalyptic Literature Section of the Society of Biblical Literature International Meeting. In addition to his work on the editorial board of Out In Scripture, an LGBT-friendly lectionary resource, he maintains a (too occasional) blog site.

An Alabama native, Greg is a graduate of Rhodes College and Vanderbilt University (PhD, 1996). Greg is an active layperson in the United Church of Christ. He lives in Lancaster with his daughters Erin and Emily.
