The knowledge of God through a growing understanding of the person of His Son, as well as the study of New Testament writers.

Doug first began to teach at Evangelical in 1993, soon after returning to the States after finishing his post-graduate studies in Scotland with Prof. I. Howard Marshall. Before coming to Evangelical he was working as a free-lance editor with Walter A. Elwell and J. D. Douglas for Baker Book House and Zondervan Publishing House on various theological and biblical reference works. In addition to his teaching duties, Doug also edits the Evangelical Journal, a semi-annual publication published by the seminary. He has written numerous articles and authored The Character and Purpose of Luke’s Christology (Cambridge, reprint 2005).

Doug is married to Keri, his high-school sweetheart and wife of twenty-eight years. She is a gifted critical care nurse whose specialty is recovering open-heart patients and is the mother of their three children. Ahna is a nurse and works in the Emergency Department of the Hershey Medical Center. Andy is a junior at Taylor University in Indiana, majoring in elementary education with a specialty in special needs children. Emily is in eighth grade at Warwick Middle School in Lititz and is majoring in keeping her parents young. Doug has also coached as a parent volunteer for many years with the Warwick School District in Lancaster County, the distance runners on their Varsity Cross Country and Track teams, and the Junior High girls volleyball team. His family is certified in Scuba Diving, and Keri and Doug are presently working on their Dive Master certification.
