Dr. Ray Tallman has a long career in cross-cultural missionary ministry and training with particular expertise in the Islamic world. Having served in ministry in Morocco, North Africa for several years, he continued his vocation as a professor in missionary training.

He taught at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City and then at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where he served as Chairman of the Missions Department for many years. He also taught as guest professor at Wheaton Graduate School, Columbia International University, and several universities and theological institutions abroad.

In 1992 he returned to the Muslim world in ministry and served in international leadership training and as International Director of Arab World Ministries. This was followed by a consultant role for OC International in developing North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia for their missionary initiatives.
Tallman has published several works including a primary text for Moody Press called An Introduction to World Missions. He also serves as a consultant and board member for several Christian organizations.

Dr. Tallman and his wife, Marge, have four children and several grandchildren. The Tallmans continue to minister globally, providing focus on the globalization of the missionary enterprise and the development of third world leadership.
