“I share St. Francis’ dream of ‘rebuilding the church’ which is open to all and oriented to the construction of the Kingdom. I hope to teach in a way that leads students to faithful, innovative, Gospel-centered service to the poor and those on the fringe of society.”

A former missionary among the Akimel O’Otham in Arizona, John has committed himself to the “mission charism” that Francis considered so important. He believes that God is manifest in all religions and cultures and that the missionary’s task is one of “mutual” mission; discovering the Christ who was present before the missionary arrived. John brings a tremendous sense of humility and faith to friars in formation and to students in his classes on missiology.
