Director of Field Education and Senior Lecturer in Ethics, graduated from St. Tikhon’s Seminary, Marywood University (M.S. in Religious Education), and the Moscow Theological Academy (Candidate of Science in Theology). He also received coun­seling certification and privileges for group psychotherapy from Farview Hospital.

Fr John is the Rector of St. Michael’s Church in Jermyn, Pa., the Secretary-Treasurer of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania and a Chaplain at S.C.I. Waymart’s Forensic Treatment Center. He has taught at St. Tikhon’s since 1986 and is the Director of Field Education at the Seminary.

He has been the Editor of Your Diocese Alive in Christ since 1987. He has published two books. An Orthodox View of Abortion (Minneapolis) and Church Fathers and Abortion (Warsaw), as well as “Interview with the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church” and “Canonization of Fr. Alexis Toth by the Orthodox Church in America” in St. Vladimir’s Theological Quarterly, and “The Millennium Pilgrimage” in The Journal of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Fr John has represented St. Tikhon’s Seminary at Syndesmos International Theological Conferences in Poland (1989), Moscow (1992) and Finland (1998). He is also the recipient of two presti­gious awards: the Order of St. Mary Magdalene, presented to him by the late Metropolitan Vasily of Poland, and the Jeweled Cross by the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America.
