Dr. John Shouse is a native of Washington, D.C. and has served churches in Texas, Kentucky, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia. Dr. Shouse has also been an adjunct professor at Austin Presbyterian Seminary; adjunct professor of religion at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas; Garret Fellow in Systematic Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; guest lecturer for the Bible Chair at the University of Texas; and a Visiting Scholar at Fuller Seminary, St. Andrews University, and the Graduate Theological Union.
He is the author of An Introduction to Christian Worship and is active in the professional theater, most recently in Equity productions of William Shakespeare. Dr. Shouse is also a performing illusionist and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians. He has written numerous professional papers and publications, been featured speaker at conferences throughout the country, and is regularly involved in pulpit supply and interim pastorates.
