Jonathan Gray joined the VTS faculty in 2008. He is currently an assistant professor of church history.

Jonathan completed his Ph.D. in Early Modern European History at Stanford University where he focused on the Reformation. His dissertation was entitled “So Help Me God: Oaths and the English Reformation.” He also has two M.A. degrees in history (one from Stanford and one from the University of Mississippi) and a B.A. in honors history, summa cum laude, from Gustavus Adolphus College.

Jonathan is in the process of revising his dissertation for publication. He is married to a beautiful pediatrician, and in his free time he enjoys alpine skiing, hiking, and scuba diving.”
