M.A., Bethel Seminary,

H. Luis Vargas is a graduate of Bethel Seminary San Diego where he earned a MA degree in MFT. He is a full-time doctoral student pursuing a PhD in MFT at Loma Linda University. Luis currently practices as a MA MFT Intern in the Victims of Crime Unit of a San Diego-based agency. In addition, he is in private practice at Family Consultation Services, San Diego.

Seminary studies in Marital and Family therapy provided me with a unique and holistic training foundation in psychotherapy. Additionally, the Seminary experience has contributed to a foundational personal development of an integrated psychological and theological theoretical framework. This training has uniquely equipped me to best apply the technical expressions of biblical truth found in the psychological principles of family science.

As a practicing Marital and Family Therapy Intern, my focus is on the process of collaboratively achieving client objectives for insight, growth, and change. I believe there is usually positive striving underlying most of our actions and am excited to be practicing therapeutic processes that allow for amplification of the competencies we inherently possess.
