Principal teaching and research interests grounded in pastoral theology, care and counseling, with a focus on multiculturalism, gender relations, grief, forgiveness and relationship issues. The application of psychoanalytic object relations theory and family systems theory in pastoral practice and themes in political and liberation theologies relevant for pastoral care are continuing areas of attention. Underlying these specialized interests is a more comprehensive interest in the interplay of theology, culture, and counseling psychology and their bearing on the shape and practice of ministry. Having served in parish ministry and practiced clinical pastoral counseling, this experience is brought to the classroom.”
