Nancy J. Olson has served as Director of the Jessie C. Eury Library since 1994. Ms. Olson earned a Bachelor of Religious Education degree from Great Lakes Christian College (1974), a Master of Science in Librarianship from Western Michigan University (1976), and a Master of Divinity from the Seminary (1998). With a deep commitment to missions, Ms. Olson has worked on a short-term basis with missionaries in Japan, England, Germany, and at TCM International in Austria. She also has traveled to more than twenty other countries. Combining her library experience with her commitment to missions, she serves as a member of the Commission for International Library Assistance, the American Theological Library Association, and the Association of Christian Librarians. She has fulfilled a number of leadership roles within the Association of Christian Librarians, including Vice President, President, and Executive Director. She has been instrumental in helping a number of churches start or enhance their own libraries. During her tenure as Library Director, the Library was invited to join Illinois’ statewide, automated library system, and it later received a large state grant to digitize selected Restoration Movement hymnals from the mid 1800s. Ms. Olson seeks to prepare the Seminary Library and its users for the future while at the same time preserving the past.
