Dr. Rich Knopp is professor of Philosophy and Christian Apologetics and has taught at LCCS since 1983. He teaches courses and topics dealing with non-Christian worldviews, Christianity and science, ethics, philosophy, and Christian apologetics, which is the task of defending Christian faith. He is also the Director of the Worldview Eyes program at Lincoln, a program funded by over $900,000 in grants from the Lilly Endowment of Indianapolis. The program helps youth and adults expand their Christian mind, engage their multimedia culture, evaluate non-Christian beliefs, and embrace a consistently-lived Christian worldview. Worldview Eyes has offered presentations to nearly 60,000 people and is currently involved in publishing a worldview curriculum and producing a TV-type “reality show” dealing with different worldviews and the Christian faith.

Dr. Knopp has a Bachelor’s degree from St. Louis Christian College, a Master of Divinity degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary, a Master of Arts from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and a Ph.D. degree in philosophy from the University of Illinois. His doctoral dissertation examined contemporary philosophy of science and its relevance to religious truth-claims and religious commitment.

Prior to coming to LCCS, Rich served local churches as a youth minister (in Wood River, IL, and Florissant, MO), as a preaching minister (in McLean, IL), and as a deacon (in Champaign, IL). He has also had several interim preaching ministries.
