Ryan Coyne studies both the history of Christian thought and modern continental philosophy. In the former field, he is especially interested in the history of Christian mysticism, as well as the relation between mysticism and scholasticism. In the latter field, his research interests include the development of the philosophy of religion, hermeneutics, phenomenology and deconstruction. He is currently working on a book exploring the role of Augustine’s theological anthropology in the formation of Martin Heidegger’s philosophy.
