The Rev. Dr. William Kondrath draws from twenty years of congregational, campus, and hospital ministry, to teach the practice of ministry. As Director of Theological Field Education he trains lay leaders and clergy in the art and ministry of supervision and theological reflection. He has consulted to more than 100 congregations, schools, hospitals, and agencies on leadership, anti-racism, multicultural staffing, and program development in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, and Mauritius. Professor Kondrath is chair of the board of Ecclesia Ministries, a ministry to and with homeless people in Boston which is also providing leadership to homeless ministries in 50 other cities throughout the US and abroad.

He is currently working a book for Alban Institute on transforming congregations through recognizing and celebrating differences. His publications include Liberating Leadership: Styles for Pastoral Ministry (Harper & Row), in collaboration with Bernard Swain; Styles of Ministerial Leadership in Human Development; Creating a Ministering Community in The Witness; and Field Education and Clinical Pastoral Education: Desired Outcomes from the Perspective of Those Making Decisions about Ordination and The Role of Feelings as Messengers in Supervision and Theological Reflection in Journal of Supervision and Training.
